Three to four months for most guests. The smoothing relaxes gradually rather than dropping off at once. Sulfate-free, sodium-free shampoo extends the life of the treatment significantly — the wrong shampoo cuts the timeline in half. Your stylist will recommend the hair care that protects your investment.

The formulations we use are formaldehyde-free or low-aldehyde, applied in well-ventilated spaces, processed within proven safety parameters. Older keratin systems used higher formaldehyde concentrations — those aren't what we use. Your stylist will confirm what's in the product before starting and answer any questions about the chemistry.

Keratin treatments rebuild and smooth the hair using keratin protein and a heat-activated bond. Smoothing treatments are a broader category — some are keratin-based, others use different chemistry. Brazilian blowout is one specific smoothing brand. Your stylist will pick the right system for your hair type, color, and how dramatic a smoothing you're after.

Yes — most modern smoothing systems are color-safe and can even seal in color, extending its life. Some chemistry conflicts with very recent color (within two weeks), so timing matters. Your stylist will sequence your color and your smoothing for the best result on both.

K18 is a peptide-based bond-repair treatment, not a smoothing service. It works inside the hair structure to repair broken bonds from color, heat, and chemical damage. It pairs well with smoothing services and with color — many of our stylists layer K18 into the routine. The in-salon application is different from the at-home mask we carry in the shop.
