    microneedling

Improve texture, refine pores, and support collagen with clinically proven treatments designed to rebuild and strengthen the skin over time.

  • about microneedling

  • Microneedling works by creating precise, controlled micro-injuries in the skin - triggering the body’s natural repair response.

As the skin heals, it produces new collagen, helping improve texture, soften fine lines, reduce the appearance of acne scars, and strengthen overall skin quality.

Every medSPA treatment at milk + honey begins with a personalized consultation, so results feel intentional, aligned, and right for you.

  • Microneedling — also called collagen induction therapy — uses a device with tiny sterile needles to create controlled micro-injuries in the skin. The skin responds by ramping up its repair process: collagen, elastin, and healthier cell turnover. The result is firmer texture, smaller pores, softened scars, and better tone. Most guests do a series of three to six sessions.

It's uncomfortable, not painful. We apply topical numbing for 15 to 20 minutes before treatment — by the time the device runs, sensation is minimal. Most guests describe it as a series of small vibrations, with more sensation around bony areas (forehead, jaw). The session itself takes 20 to 30 minutes after numbing.

Three to six sessions, spaced four to six weeks apart, then maintenance every six to twelve months. Texture and pore size show change quickly. Acne scarring, deeper lines, and major resurfacing need a longer series. Your provider will assess your goals at consultation and define the right number.

PRF — platelet-rich fibrin drawn from your own blood and processed in-office — is applied to the skin during and after microneedling. The micro-channels created by the needles allow PRF's growth factors to absorb directly into the skin, intensifying the healing response. Many guests see better results with PRF than with microneedling alone, especially for scarring and aging.

Day one: redness and tightness, like a moderate sunburn. Day two to three: light flaking, possible dryness, skin tightens as it heals. Day four to seven: skin looks refreshed, sometimes glowing. Avoid makeup, sun, retinoids, and active skincare for the first 24 to 72 hours. SPF for two full weeks after — non-negotiable.

Texture, fine lines, acne scarring (atrophic and rolling), enlarged pores, uneven tone, stretch marks, hair loss when done on the scalp. Less effective for active acne, deep static wrinkles, and severe skin laxity — other treatments handle those better. Your provider will tell you honestly when microneedling is right and when it isn't.
