    texture + tone

When your skin looks dull, feels rough, or lacks its usual glow, it's often a combination of texture and tone. These subtle changes can leave skin looking less smooth, less even, and less radiant overall.

  • Understanding texture + tone

  • Smooth, even skin begins beneath the surface. Cell renewal, collagen, congestion, and pigmentation all influence how skin reflects light and feels to the touch. Understanding those changes helps explain why skin can lose clarity, smoothness, and radiance over time, and how we can restore it.

    treatment with
intention

Understanding how texture and tone are formed allows us to take a more precise approach. Some treatments focus on clearing buildup and smoothing the surface, while others support deeper renewal to improve overall skin quality. Our goal is to create skin that looks consistently smooth, even, and refined over time.

  •
  • Cell turnover slows with age, sun exposure, and stress — dead cells linger on the surface and create dullness, rough patches, and visible pores. Inflammation from acne or barrier damage leaves uneven tone. Photoaging from years of UV creates uneven pigment. Texture and tone almost always improve together when cell turnover is supported.

Consistent gentle exfoliation (chemical, not aggressive scrubs), retinoids at night, regular facials, and one or two in-office resurfacing treatments per year. Microneedling, chemical peels, and dermaplaning all work on texture from different angles. The combination compounds — no single treatment does it alone.

Pores can't be physically shrunk, but they can look much smaller with consistent care. Keeping pores clear of debris (chemical exfoliation, professional extractions) reduces the dilation. Treatments that stimulate collagen around the pore opening (microneedling, lasers, retinoids) tighten the appearance. Genetics set the baseline; care moves the needle.

HydraFacial is one of the fastest ways to refresh dull skin, leaving it brighter and more hydrated after a single treatment. VI Peel® treatments help improve tone and radiance over time through skin renewal, while microneedling supports longer-term improvements in texture and overall skin quality. For event prep, pairing an in-office treatment with vitamin C and a hydrating mask at home can deliver an even brighter glow.

Yes—when the right peel is selected for your skin. During your consultation, your provider will evaluate your skin type, sensitivity, and goals to determine whether a VI Peel® is appropriate and which formulation is the best fit. Some guests with very sensitive or reactive skin may benefit from a more gradual treatment plan before moving to stronger resurfacing treatments.

For maintenance, every four to six weeks fits the cell turnover cycle. For correction (active acne scarring, sun damage, deeper texture), a series — three to six sessions, every four weeks — then maintenance. Your provider will define the series for you.
