The NYFW Spring 2017 Beauty Trends to Know Now

The NYFW Spring 2017 runways have spoken and let's just say the "newest" beauty trends to emerge are a mixed bag of vibrant color, casual styling, and cool-girl accessories. We're unpacking the standout beauty moments of the past week and sharing our favorites right here. Let's start with:

The Extreme Side Part

This particular brand of side-parting stood out to us — reminiscent of the side-swept bangs of yore but with an updated and, thankfully, sophisticated take on the style. The models at Michael Kors (pictured above) showed off air-dryed hair, pinned partially behind the ear to reveal major side part. While at Narcisco Rodriguez, the women walked the runway with slicked side parts and stick-straight strands.

The Bleached Surfer Look

Be it the clothes, hair, or makeup, Alexander Wang is not one to opt for the subtle route. This season, the designer sent out models with wet, wavy, "just in from a killer surf session" hair — complete with a brazen sunkissed-meets-bleached color to match.

The Hair Accessory Comeback Kid

There was nary a runway without the appearance of hair accessories, wild, innovative, traditional, or otherwise. Here is what you need to know: Baja East (re)introduced a '90s-esque bandana (pictured above), Ryan Roche wove raw strips of silk and linen through models' beautiful ballerina buns, Adam Selman accented polished hairstyles with a selection of velvet and plexiglass barrettes, and Tibi secured sleek ponytails with grommet belts. What will your hair accessory of choice be?

The Low-Maintenance Look

When we say "low maintenance," we really mean it. No-frills, air-dried hair is the look of Spring 2017 and there are a bevy of designers to back this theory up. Tommy Hilfiger's models (pictured above) walked the runway with long, flowing locks most memorable for their unfussy look. Similar pared-down hair was spotted at the likes of Oscar de la Renta, Rag & Bone, Vera Wang, Jonathan Simkhai, and The Elder Statesman.
