4 Benefits Of Soakless Pedicures

At the mere mention of the word pedicure, your mind instantly goes to a relaxing spa experience, a basin filled with warm water and tiny bubbles nipping at your toes. And like most of our clients, you probably think that water is a non-negotiable part of your pedicure. The truth is, soakless pedicures may be worthy of a second look. If you're still on the fence about trying something new, here are four benefits of soakless pedicures.

Targets Dry Skin

Nail technicians have a better view of the problem areas on your feet if you opt for a soak less pedicure. Not only can they see and therefore target dry spots effectively, but by eliminating the soak, your cuticles won’t expand. This reduces the likelihood of your tech removing more skin than necessary.

Increased Longevity Of Your Nail Color

One appreciable benefit of a soakless pedicure is that your polish will last longer. Soaking your nails in water even for as little as 60 seconds causes the nail plate to bloat and expand. Once dry, however, the nail plate, of course, contracts. That, in turn, causes your polish to lift and chip.

Softer Skin

With traditional pedicures, your skin becomes saturated and holds on to the water from the soak, making it difficult for creams and lotions to absorb into the skin fully. So, in addition to increasing the longevity of your nail lacquer, soakless pedicures will also leave your skin feeling softer and more hydrated.

Soakless Pedicures Are More Sanitary

Soakless pedicures are far more sanitary than traditional pedicures for both the nail tech and the client. Not only do soakless pedicures limit the spread of waterborne pathogens, but they also reduce the likelihood of cross-contamination between clients stemming from improperly cleaned basins and jets.   Presently, Milk + Honey offers soakless nail services at Arboretum Market, Hill Country Galleria, and Brentwood spa locations only.
