Q: why do so many of your products have denatured alcohol in the ingredients? I have read that is one of the worst alcohols to put on hair, not to mention near the scalp where it can be absorbed. Love the Oi Shampoo, Conditioner (which still has alcohol but not the dreaded denatured alcohol), and the Oi Oil. I am looking for a good styling product for my fine hair and everything I look at that I think will work has denatured alcohol in it!

A: Hi Kathy,

Thank you for reaching out regarding your concerns with denatured alcohol. milk + honey prides itself on curating an assortment of products that are clean and effective. We use the Environmental Working Group as a resource when determining which ingredients to avoid from a safety perspective. While denatured alcohol scores a 1 (the least concerning on the EWG safety scale), it can be rather drying. Most aerosol and spritz products that spray contain a higher amount of denatured alcohol, with creams, whips, and gels containing less or none.

If you were looking for something to provide similar results as the Davines Blowdry Primer, I suggest any of Kevin Murphy's Blowdry Sprays - none of which contain any alcohol.
