University Presbyterian Church (UPC) began its relationship with Equal Exchange in 2001 through the Presbyterian Coffee Project. UPC members enact Micah 6:8, to “do justice, love kindness, and walk humbly with our God” in many ways, including purchasing fair trade COFFEES, TEAS, CHOCOLATES, COCOAS AND OLIVE OIL
The Presbyterian Church (USA) has had an agreement with Equal Exchange since 2001. Not only do we benefit by consuming high quality products, we are “acting justly” and our denomination’s Hunger Program receives $0.10 for every pound of Equal Exchange products that Presbyterians purchase. Last year that amounted to over $6,000!
"I want to send my thanks to all of the congregations that purchase our coffee.
Thanks to you, we have a seed of hope in our lives.”
