7 Self-Care Products That Just Make Us Happy
Did you jot down intentions for 2021? When I did, it became obvious very quickly that happiness is my top priority this year. And after such an uncertain year, I’m surely not alone in my quest for joy. You know what they say — sometimes it’s the little things that count. So in the spirit of appreciating the simple stuff, I’m sharing seven self-care products that have recently helped to brighten my day.
1. Golde Cacao Turmeric Latte Blend
Whenever I’m craving a calm, grounding moment, I instinctively reach for a hot tea or nourishing smoothie recipe. Recently, I’ve been making this smoothie with Golde’s Cacao Turmeric Latte Blend. It’s packed with high-quality, good-for-you ingredients like cacao (an antioxidant haven), turmeric (a superfood for skin and gut health), and coconut (rich in good-for-you fats like MCT.) It’s easy, Instagrammable, and perfectly rich.
2. milk + honey Waffle Weave Headband
I’ve had my milk + honey headband for a couple of years, but it never gets old. It manages to keep my hair out of beauty routines better than any clips while still maintaining the integrity of my hairstyle. It’s so comfortable and easy to throw in the wash once a week. Not bad for a $6 skincare headband!
3. OSEA Undaria Algae Body Oil
If you ask me, there’s nothing more moisturizing than a body oil post-shower when your skin is still wet. I would be embarrassed to own up to how many body oils I currently own, but let’s just say this one from OSEA is at the top of my list. Not only does it smell wonderful, but word on the street is that clean beauty queen Victoria Beckham is also obsessed with it. If it’s good enough for Posh Spice, it’s good enough for me.
4. milk + honey Hydrating Rose Mist
Aside from being packed with hydrating ingredients like hyaluronic acid and organic aloe leaf juice, this mist just smells lovely. I know what you’re thinking, but there’s no need to fear the idea of a musty, “old-lady” rose scent. We made it with four different types of rose, creating a soft blend that’s gently floral. I love this mist so much, I even published a love letter to it on TikTok. File under: dewiest makeup looks and parched skin midday pick-me-ups.
5. milk + honey Rose Quartz Facial Roller
If you haven’t given yourself a facial massage, now’s the time to start. This lovely little roller can enhance blood circulation and is made with rose quartz, which corresponds to the heart chakra to promote self-love, inner peace, and energy healing. And if that’s too woo-woo for you, it also just feels great — especially first thing in the AM after leaving it in the fridge overnight. I personally give this roller bonus points for the metal handle. Most facial rollers have delicate gemstone handles that are quite easy to drop and break immediately after unboxing them. Or at least, that’s been the case in my personal experience. (Learn from my mistakes.) 🤦♀️
6. Moon Juice SuperYou
When I say this product makes me happy, I literally mean it. It’s been clinically proven to regulate cortisol levels, boost energy and mood, control stress-related weight gain, and reduce physical, mental, and emotional fatigue. I find that the difference between days with and without SuperYou is actually noticeable. I truly have an added pep in my step and boosted energy when I remember to take it every day.
7. milk + honey Body Polish Nº 05
This is one of those “if you know, you know” kind of products. This is truly the queen of all body scrubs, and certainly among my personal favorites of all milk + honey products. Okay, but what makes it so good? Two things. First, the ratio of oil to sugar-and-sea-salt polish is unlike any other scrub I’ve ever used. Before this product, body scrubs were something I wanted to love, but ultimately were slippery and messy in the shower. milk + honey’s Body Polish is more solid (almost like the consistency of floam), so a little goes a long way. My other favorite thing about this product is the delightful lemon and vanilla blend. It smells reminiscent of a cake in the oven, but with light and uplifting citrus — no saccharine vibes here.
